Programming and Market Researcher


Job Description

  • This job entails research and analysis of viewership of CBN Asia programs; competitor programs; programming trends, methods of marketing and distribution; local and international market conditions; and the broadcast industry in general.
  • Responsible for preparing accurate weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual viewership reports, broadcast schedules, and program evaluations using applicable software and relevant data
  • Convert complex data into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports
  • Measure the effectiveness of programs and strategies
  • Monitor and forecast market and distribution trends
  • Present results to management and headquarters in a timely manner
  • Maintain viewership and program database for tracking performance and easy retrieval of information
  • Closely coordinate and maintain positive working relationships with the viewership data providers and carrier networks
  • Ensure compliance with policies of carrier networks and appropriate regulatory agencies in broadcasting and digital media
  • Preview and evaluate show to determine appropriateness and quality for broadcast and digital media
  • Oversee the on-time submission of program materials to carrier networks
  • Monitor the broadcast of programs

Qualifications / Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Statistics, Communication Research, or any related course
  • Research-related work experience is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical, statistical, mathematical skills
  • Computer proficiency in Arianna Television Ratings Analysis software and MS applications (especially Excel and Powerpoint)
  • Strong organizational, presentation, decision making, problem-solving, and time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and Filipino
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain positive working relationships with all levels
  • A keen eye for detail and understanding of sensitivities, sensibilities, and behaviors of viewers
  • Knowledge of broadcast and digital media regulations
  • Ability to network and obtain information from all possible sources
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
